Building Construction Material Testing Laboratory

Chemical and physical testing of cement, bricks, mortars, cement sand mixture etc. is being performed.

Chemical & Food Laboratories

Chemical/Physical analysis of food and food products, chemicals, soap and detergents, paints, varnishes, industrial effluents, fertilizers, galvanized products, plastic products polyethylene and polyvinyl products, petroleum products, biscuit, wheat flour bakery products and confectionary , sugar, molasses and honey, noodles, cheese, tea and coffee, liquors, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, oil and ghee, milk and milk products, fruit products, spices, feed and feed products, table salt, rice and cereals, gypsum, leather and its products, drinking water, cement, mortars and sand, GI wire, pipe and sheets, textile material, paper and plastic sheets, plastic container bleaching powder etc. are performed in these laboratories as per available facilities.

Electrical testing Laboratory

Physical analysis of household electrical wires, electrical appliances, ACSR Conductor, Drop wire, PVC Cable, electric bulbs, Dry cell batteries are being performed in this laboratory .

Pipe testing Laboratory

Physical Analysis of Polyethylene pipe, polyvinyl chloride pipes, GI pipes are being conducted in this laboratory .

Textile testing Laboratory

Physical and chemical analysis of woolen fibers, woolen fabrics, woolen yarn, fabric paper, chemical composition of wool, cotton yarn and cotton fabrics, polyester, pashmina, carpets, garments etc. are conducted in this laboratory.

Leather Testing Laboratory

Leather and leather products are tested for various parameters in this laboratory.

Mechanical Testing Laboratory

Tensile strength, Bend test, Re-bend test, Bond test for cold twisted deformed iron bars GI wire, GI pipes etc. are tested in this laboratory .

Metrology Laboratory

Verification and re-verification and or calibration of different weighing and measuring instruments as well as weights and measures are carried out in this laboratory .

Environmental testing Laboratory

Chemical, Bio-chemical, and physical analysis of industrial liquid effluents are tested against the required standards in this laboratory .

Prerequisite for Grant of Laboratory Services Available at NBSM

( 1) formal application letter addressed to Director General stating required      services in detail.

(2) Required quantity of the sample to be tested (as specified in the Annex).

(3) Submission of the required testing fee (as specified in Annex I )

(4) Number of working days required for completion of the . testing shall be      notified by Sample Management Division.
