Inspection & Certification is one of the key divisions of Nepal Bureau opf Standards and Metrology (NBSM). It is National Standard Body which foemulates national standards of any entities and awards liscence to put NS NS Mark on those entities which qualifies national atandard.
This section looks after issuance of liscence to use 'Nepal Standard Certification Mark' in various products.The citizen chartered of this department has got the provision of issual of the certificate in one to three months after the receivel of the complete set of application.
Till date fourty-six differnt products have been granted the 'Nepal Standard Certification Mark'.
Range of Services:
This division has highly qualified and trained technical manpower. Thiy carry out
inspection and certification work f any entities (product/process/services). This
division , though headed by Director, is controlled by Directior-General. Any
related activities can be carried out with his permission.
Responsibility and Authority:
The key personnel of this division know their specific responsibilities for the quality
of the product or service and the limits of authority for the action they take.This division
is mainly responsible for:
i) To carry out all inspection and certification activities as guided by operating procedures and instruction in this manual (section)
ii) To do all the necessary works in order to renewal of the license etc.
iii) To carry out lot certification and pre-shipment inspection services as per the trading partner's terms and conditions on trequest in those situations where product is not covered by NS-Marking Scheme.
iv) To monitoring the NS awarded products.
v) To take necessary actions on Non conforming products.
